Sumney International Academy is a vision of Drs. Kodjoe and Akosuah Sumney, Ghanaian American missionaries who want to raise students as leaders, with the Bezaleel spirit of inventions and creativity combined with technology to develop Africa. The school broke grounds in January 2010 on a four acrea land in Accra and opened her doors to the Ashieyie community by September 2010. The first semester brought one student from September through December, by August the next year, we attained 30 students. The school is five years in September and we have enrolled 200 students. Drs. Kodjoe and Akosuah love education and will motivate the students to excel in skilled development education to create jobs.
VISION STATEMENT:
The vision of Sumney International Academy is to join the parents and community to raise students as leaders, in an all round education; systematic use of technology combined with career preparation in developing skills to become independent and self-sufficient adults who will succeed and contribute responsibly in a global community. Our desire is to train the whole man; spirit, body and mind in academic excellence creating opportunities, inspiring dreams and empowering all students to demonstrate leadership in character development.
MISSION STATEMENT:
Our mission is to develop confident young People with all round education which includes scientific and creative minds, to recognize and optimize their full potential. We share our cultural backgrounds to nurture responsibility, and productivity. We stress the total development of each child: spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical. We work toward an integrated curriculum that reaches across disciplines and age levels; using current technologies and resources to empower students to meet academic challenges with enthusiasm, and a willingness to solve problems. We motivate students to perform with distinction in the academic and professional worlds, and will provide leadership nationally and internationally.
